Wearable Art

When I saw this hoodie I was immediately drawn to it- this McQ by Alexander McQueen hoodie strikes the perfect balance between edginess, whimsicality, and art.

Comfort and style don’t always go together….but when they do, isn’t it just so perfect?! Many people (including myself) are trading in their jeans for leggings and track pants. With the right accessories you can give your off-duty look the perfect mix of chic and sporty.

Today’s look is grid print track pant and with a matching sweatshirt. It was one of those outfits I saw on Asos and knew I had to have before it sold out. It is by a brand called Noisy May, which makes both petite and tall collections. If you are going to order from them make sure you are aware of this!! (I have on the petite) I added a beanie and a pair of pointed toe booties for a cool yet relaxed look that can be worn anywhere and everywhere. Below shop some of my favorites that I have also had my eye on!! Thanks for stopping by today!!

Happy Friday Everyone!!

I posted this outfit on Instagram a few days ago, so I decided to put it up on my blog because something may just surprise you!! We have seen this patch trend from the runways to the streets and on pieces ranging from forever21 to designers such as Stella McCartney, Mira Mikati, Anya Hindmarch, and even Dolce and Gabbana.

Whether you want an artsy or more edgy vibe, the decoration and emoji-style detailing will not let you down. You can wear items completely covered or maybe just have 1 or 2 graphics. Pieces from the designers mentioned above may be a bit expensive for most of us, but that doesn’t mean you can’t join in on the fun. The sweater I have on today is under $20, and I don’t think anyone would ever even know. You can even get creative with this trend….I have seen adorable Iron on and Stick on patches…DIY!!

Below, I have linked today’s outfit and several other favorite patched pieces I have fell in love with at all price points. Thanks for stopping by today. Have an amazing weekend everyone!!

Happy Tuesday everyone!!!

I got back from NYFW last week (which was absolutely amazing!) I adore seeing the new collections and witnessing all of the details in person. A few of my favorite shows included Zimmermann and Rebecca Minkoff, and I had the pleasure to meet all of the designers!

The Minkoffshow was held right on Greene Street in Soho outside of the store. She shut down the entire street!! The pieces were classic, stylish, functional, and a little funky!

The sweatshirt and bag I am rocking today are designed by Rebecca. The sweatshirt shows you can go both ways…with a bold uptown graphic and shady downtown lettering falling like a shadow (as it would in Midotwn). I layered it over a blouse dress and added the classic Balenciaga moto ankle boot for an edgier touch. Shop today's look below:

Lightweight sweaters are the best for chilly nights and cool mornings in the summer. The fringe hem on this knit makes it perfect for layering other pieces and also gives it a little boho twist. My two major accessories today are a chiffon necktie (which can be worn multiple ways) and a beaded tassel necklace. They add a semi vintage-inspired statement to this textured sweater. Round sunnies, and pink, green, and neutral tones add just enough color to make outfit boho-chic. Shop today’s look and similar pieces below. Have a great day everyone! Thanks for stopping by today!

Pink Jacquard

Happy Tuesday everyone!!

I am all pink today (my favorite color!!) This is another outfit I purchased from the crazy sale happening at Intermix. Both this sweater and these shorts are now marked under $100.

This sweater is a pretty pink rib crew neck that can be worn all year and layered into any look and I paired it today with these tailored jacquard shorts. I love the charm and subtle beauty of the pattern because it is so glamorous and does not need any further embellishment (unless you want to add it of course). I have been seeing very similar pieces out for the fall and a ton of heavy and luxurious fabrics combined into both clothing and accessories. This is definitely a trend to look for. This outfit is linked below, along with other jacquard shorts and skirts with matching sweaters and pumps. Thanks for stopping by.

Birds of a Feather

Feathers always add femininity, glam, and of course movement to any look. Today they prove sweaters can be special too. Instead of pairing your jeans and pumps with your average sweater, sometimes it is fun to find different pieces that add that unique touch. This cashmere shell from J.Crew does just that…detailed with playful feathers at the bottom. I decided to wear a blouse underneath for a finishing touch and more relaxed look. Shop this look below:

Necessary Neutral

Many of you may know my Stuart Weitzman over-the-knee boots are my everyday winter go-to’s…literally worth every penny. However, the newer version with shearling trim may be my new found love. A necessary neutral and very sophisticated.

Today I have on a borrowed-from-the-boys oversized shirtdress layered under an oversized knit with high side slits. I figured I may as well take advantage of the so called “warmer” weather before winter actually hits us. You can shop this look and similar below. Thanks for stopping by!!

Houndstooth Mini

Mini Skirts never really go out of style. They are fun fashion items that anyone can rock with the proper accessories. Today’s mini features an allover houndstooth pattern with two front pockets. I may also add this particular mini is under $20 (so crazy!!)

If you are looking to switch up your look consider pairing your mini skirt with tights, stockings, or leggings. On top you can also go with a bomber (which are very on trend right now) layered over a chunky knit or even a cropped leather/suede jacket.  Shop this look and similar mini skirts below:

Red Accents

Sweatshirt:H&M|Jeans:Joe's Jeans|Boots:Toga Pulla|Scarf:Vintage Celine|Hat:Older

You don’t need a whole new wardrobe to spice up your look…sometimes all you need are the right accessories. Even the most boring outfits can be transformed with the help of a few key pieces. Today I have on jeans and a plain black sweatshirt (boring right?!) but the outfit is given character by red accents and a mod inspired driving cap.

Around my neck is a Celine printed silk scarf I ordered off of the vintage boutique on Farfetch. There are some really awesome pieces on there for great prices.  The red design just happens to match my new Toga Pulla boots….which I immediately became obsessed with as soon as I saw. I think the western style silver buckles on the side are just the coolest and the scarf adds a perfect refined touch.

If you are searching for a plain sweatshirt, I recommend this one from H&M. It is a great price and also comes in light pink and gray. Below, shop this look and my scarf picks (both vintage & new) I hope everyone has an amazing weekend. XOXO

Zip Knit

Sweater:Asilio|Denim:Stella McCartney|Boots:Vince

Dino Petrocelli Photography

Today’s outfit is really unique for two reasons. The first being the obvious…..this awesome zippered knit from one of my new favorite brands Asilio. The details on it transform your average sweater into something much, much cooler, while also giving a breath of fresh air.

The second being…these Stella McCartney jeans were originally bleached with a pink tone (we had a little mishap with the washing machine….oops!!). Anyway, now I have a new pair of jeans.

This look is very laid back. The cropped sweater adds the perfect touch of femininity for a comfortable, yet chic look paired with suede booties. You can shop this look and similar below (minus the pink Stella jeans!!):
Thanks for stopping by. Have a great day.

Side Slit

Today’s oversized knit sweater is all about layering with the side slit. I love a great sweater and this one in particular is perfect all year round. Since it hasn’t been the warmest outside I layered a white tee and chambray shirt underneath. I just love how the open sides give visibility to the layering…especially on a day when the wind is blowing. On a warmer spring day I would not layer anything underneath it and instead, pair it with all white or a less distressed denim.

Hippie Pants

Shot by Dino Petrocelli

Going into spring with flare. These pants are the perfect way to jump into warm weather. The colorful stripes and flared leg are this season’s biggest trend. My orange suede so Kate boots are a perfect match and suede is also a very big must this spring…bringing falls favorite fabric to a whole new level. The mesh pullover adds a contrast of texture to this look.

Pullover: Banana Republic

Skirt: H&M

Coat: H&M

Clutch: YSL

Shoes: Christian Louboutin

Jewelry: David Yurman

There is something about flared skirts that take me back to my childhood…they are fun, flirty and very feminine. This burgundy printed skirt from H&M sits perfectly at the waist and the black piping seems to give it a layered look. Pairing with this Á La Mode pullover  lends to the season's sweatshirt trend plus, topping the look off with this quilted coat makes for a great daytime outfit with a fresh appearance. When it comes to my personal style, I have never considered myself to have one in particular. When picking out my clothing, my style can vary depending on a number of factors including my mood or what I am willing to try…but that is the fun part about fashion. You never have to be the same and can experiment. One day I may feel all pink and girly girl, and the next day I may feel like being in all black and very edgy. Today is clearly girly and fun outfit with the flare, yet a little laid back paired with a sweatshirt…the best of both worlds!
