Let It Snow

In a few more days we will be ringing in a brand new year. 2016 brought so many new experiences for me and I am excited for 2017 to see what it may hold. It has been snowing for the past couple of days so my photographer thought it would be a good idea to get out and have a little fun with it. Every now and then the little kid comes out in all of us whether it be catching snowflakes on your tongue, throwing snowballs or making snow angels. It was a great day to be out and about making the most of it. I was recently invited to the Alice and Olivia sample sale before anyone else and I got first dibs on many beautiful items one of which was this long skirt and matching acrylic clutch. Originally wanting to wear heeled boots, the weather being as it was I decided to put on my low boots, socks, grab a pair of earmuffs and just go with it. Turns out it worked so well. Sometimes the unplanned turns out to be the best. I love these pictures as they show so much of the real me.

Wishing everyone a happy, healthy, and amazing New Year!!!

Monday got me like…

Messy hair. Don’t care.

With the weather staying a little bit on the warmer side…I like to get in some cute skirts and dresses without leggings or tights. The checked mini I have on today is from Zara and finished off with a built in knot, which is a detail you may see on a lot of pieces these days. It adds a subtle and fresh twist on your day-to-day look. I paired it with a crisp blouse with a sharp stand collar buttoned up all of the way and pinned it with a Chanel brooch.

As I was finishing up today’s post and browsing the internet for similar skirts to link I came across a site that had an identical piece. Below, shop today’s look along with a few mini skirts I just couldn’t resist to add!! Have a great week everyone!

rue Saint-André des Arts

Hi everyone!!!

I am so excited to be back on the blog today with a new outfit and even more excited for the weekend! Today’s look is one that can take you from day into night. As I am sure you have realized by now the bomber has taken over the fashion world, and it doesn’t look like it is going anywhere very soon. As the temperature begins to drop…coats, jackets, and layering pieces become non-negotiable, and the bomber is the perfect off-duty/cool piece for those on the go.

The bird embroidery and gathered effect on today’s jacket makes it a must-have piece in my opinion. Underneath I layered a cotton tee with lettering graphic “rue Saint-André des Arts” and a ribbed-knit midi skirt for a trendy, yet casual look. If you are looking for something a littler on the warmer side, check out the matching sweater or similar sweatshirt linked below.

Does anyone have any fun plans this weekend? My best friend will be home Friday and I can’t wait to go out, have fun, and just laugh. You know those times…when you are laughing so hard, feel like your gaining a 6-pack, and have tears coming out of your eyes? Those always make the best memories. Have an amazing day everyone!! Friday will be here soon enough.

Love is a Verb

This was one of my favorite NYFW outfits I wore. I didn’t get the best photos in it so I wanted to be sure I got it up on the blog! I had bought this flared leather mini skirt at Intermix and originally was looking for some sort of bodysuit to wear with it. When I found this whimsical tee with the printed message “Love is a Verb” I thought it would give the outfit a different twist…but it was still missing something.

I got back to the apartment tried it on again and couldn’t quite put my finger on it. After trying on several different belts and accessories I finally tried on this crystal feather belt (it belongs to my sister) and thought it added a playful touch…especially combined with a crystal choker. I mean it was fashion week…..sometimes more is more!

Easy Does It

Today I am mixing on trend pieces in an unexpected way. I purchased this skirt from Asos at the beginning of the summer with the feeling it was going to sell out (it did) …everything always goes super fast on that site. It is very unique with tiered ruffles and frayed hems.

I am usually such a ‘heel’ girl over flats but I have been trying to shoot more looks where I dress down apparel and make it more practical to wear during the day. With that being said, I decided to pair today’s main piece with a lightweight sleeveless knit, fedora, and classic slip-on sneakers. The allover stripes print gives the look character…making it a little polished yet also a little undone.

Below, find the links to today’s outfit. I have also incorporated similar items, cute summer tanks, and adorable alternative sneaker options that can be paired with a white skirt like this one. All items can be mixed and matched! (I am really loving the metallic sneaker and crotchet crop top combo)

The Set Up

TGIF

I cannot explain to you how much I love this set (and pretty much any cute set for that matter) They are just the best for summer and make it way too easy to get dressed. I purchased this one from Revolve, and they have soo many other adorable options as well. Many of the pieces I end up buying are flirty, effortless, and have numerous styling options.

The sleek stripes and tiered layers set me up to buy this one (pun intended). I immediately fall for anything girly. I don’t know what it is with me and ruffles these days, but I cannot stop (even though they can be such a pain to iron). This is by the brand Privacy Please. They are a vintage-inspired label with the cutest pieces. Check some of them out below. I hope everyone has an amazing weekend.

Fringe Finishing

Tank:Joe's Jeans(older,similar here)|Skirt:Club Monaco|Choker:Asos|Bag:Mansur Gavriel|Sandals:Birkenstock

Dino Petrocelli Photography

Hi everyone!!

Today’s look is casual and cool. What I love about this ribbed long skirt is that is can be dressed up or down. However, when I first saw it I imagined it styled very laidback with an oversized tee. I ended up liking it with this knotted tank I have and simple white birkenstocks, which epitomize casual comfort.

I added this bandana like choker with paisley print, which unexpectedly looks awesome with the fringe finishing on the skirt…occupying the spotlight. Below, shop this look and similar items at a very low price. Thanks for stopping by today!

Subdued Stripes

If you happen to be a girl on a strict budget then this outfit is the one for you. I have spoken about this before, you do not always have to have the most expensive items in your wardrobe to be stylish. Mixing high end together with less expensive things is done all the time by smart shoppers and no one will ever be the wiser. Just look for things that are made well and have great fabric. Believe it or not, this skirt was only $20.00 and it is the cutest!!! I found it at forever 21 one day when I was just shopping around looking for a few things. perfect for the office or on a day when you just need to run around getting things accomplished. During the summer I will very often wear dresses or skirts during the day because they are easy and lady like. I paired it with another inexpensive top from H&M. The wedges are Paul Andrew, the purse, j.crew, a bit more expensive but adds just the right touch, picking up the same neutral tone of the top and the stripe in the skirt. This is a smart looking outfit, very affordable and one would never guess what I paid for it. Don't be afraid to mix it up, you just might surprise yourself.

Ready,Set…

Ready, Set…..Monday.

When it comes to spring and summer trends, nothing makes our days easier than the coordinating set.  Matchy-matchy=no fuss and the good news is there are endless combinations to mix and match the separates.  Since the top and bottom are taken care of, it is fun to focus more on adding clashing combos with shoes and accessories.

Today’s skirt is by J.O.A. I bought it at a local boutique, and unfortunately cannot find it anywhere on the Internet. I have tried everything possible!! I am so disappointed!! The set is a light periwinkle blue with white pinstripes and I paired it with these strappy sandals with a colorful mix of gingham print…such a statement shoe.

I went on some of my favorite shopping sites and picked out my top choice sets below. I tried to only link outfits where both the top and the bottom were available in a variety of sizes (so you can buy both pieces obviously)

So…ready,set…..SHOP (it will make your Monday go by faster)

Happy Monday Everyone!!

Today I decided to share one of my favorite skirts!! It is a little older now but I am still as in love with it as I was the day I bought it. I love mini skirts…especially ruffled and layered ones for spring and summer. They are stylish, youthful, and have so many styling options.

This one from Alice & Olivia I actually wore on my 22nd birthday. Black floral appliqués dress up the scalloped tiers of the party-ready skirt. It may remind you a little bit of an older post I did Heart of Gold (another favorite of mine).

This skirt is  unfortunately no longer available, but I went ahead and picked out a few other adorable tiered skirts for the season. I hope you enjoy! Thanks for stopping by!

Spring Fever

Skirt:Maje|Top:J.Crew|Jacket:Theory(older)|Pumps:Christian Louboutin

Dino Petrocelli Photography

I have been having serious spring fever. I am over the cold and SO over my winter clothes!! I have been trying to incorporate more color into my outfits along with some lighter weight pieces. This midi skirt from Maje for instance has a neoprene-like finish and all-over print…you could do a lot with this. Today I decided to go with one of my favorite and classic layering pieces…a sleeveless shell (also see the matching cardigan) they always seem to work with just about anything. The sunset pink color adds a fun touch to the green and blue print. This look is still shoppable. See Below:

Checked In

I have officially checked out of New York Fashion Week and checked into my new shawl-like coat that I do not plan on taking off anytime soon. The earth tone colored plaid is neutral therefore very wearable and the belt at the waist is removable also giving this coat some versatility. I decided to pair it with a black wool skirt (which is now on sale) and my over-the-knee boots. You can shop this look and similar below.

Military Mood

Set the tone with dramatic hardware and modern details. Military-inspired pieces make a statement. Today’s ‘Alexander Military Blazer’ was an exclusive piece for Intermix, and unfortunately is sold out…but don’t worry you can still easily get this look! I have included a few other shoppable military-like pieces below that I love.

Instead of pairing my blazer with jeans or trousers, I went with a new pleated tulle mini skirt. There is something about the tailored jacket and bouncy skirt together that just works.

Skirt:Alice&Olivia|Coat:Maje|Boots:Joie (sold out)|Clutch:Edie Parker

Dino Petrocelli Photography

Yesterday I got lucky enough to shoot a bunch of great new looks before the cold weather struck again (hence today’s mini skirt). A floral print helps to brighten up our current stuck in winter minds…so why not. I paired this mini with a classic black turtleneck and oversized blue wool-blend coat. It has a wrap-like silhouette and belt, which cinches in the waist for a cozy feel.

A cheerful Edie Parker Yes clutch also brings a more springy vibe to this look. This one is no longer available, but I picked out a few other favorites of mine below. I am a little late to the game with my knee-high boots, but I got the best deal on this pair, which I am obsessed with…so you can expect to see them a lot in the next week (oops!!) This look is shoppable below. Thanks for stopping by today!!
