Lighten Up

Dress:Jack by BB Dakota (similar)|Pumps:Christian Louboutin|Clutch:Edie Parker (similar)

Dino Petrocelli Photography

Hello everyone,

Well, as you have seen on my Instagram, I just got back from Aruba and I had the most amazing and relaxing time. Every year I take two or three vacations with my family and we have been there several times because the Island has the best food, nicest people and pretty much guaranteed great weather. Two years ago we stayed at the brand new Ritz Carlton, which we loved but it is very quiet so this year we decided to go back to the Marriott Stellaris where there is much more activity. The grounds are beautiful and the sun was sizzling, so much so that we had to spend a little less time than usual on the beach. You are right at the equator so you can just imagine how great the weather really is. I cannot say enough about the food and we have several restaurants we frequent, never being disappointed.

We kept it a little more low key than usual this year not fussing as much for dinner, more sandals less on the heels, hair and makeup, which was kind of nice but doesn't always make for the best pics so I will restyle and repost some of my outfits when weather permits. In the meantime I'm back in the Northeast and back on the blog.

I wish I had this maxi dress while in Aruba…it just screams for clear blue water and pink sand. It has that princess feel to it with the flowy bottom. I paired it with pink pumps, and a light blue Edie Parker clutch for a little more color. I hope you like it as much as I do! You can get this look below.

Thanks for stopping by today!!

White with a Twist

Sweater:Rag&Bone|Pants:Alice&Olivia|Bag:Henri Bendel|Belt:B-Low the Belt

Dino Petrocelli Photography

Hey Everyone!!

I finally shot a bunch of new looks on Friday and I cannot wait to share them all with you! I gave today’s white look a modern twist with a black leather choker and my new favorite belt from B-Low the belt(a current must have!)

If you are ever looking for a great pair of wide-leg pants…check out Alice & Olivia. I now have a pair of these trousers in white, black, and orange. They are great and I love the fluid movement of them.

For accessories I added my calf-hair booties and my new yellow mini croc bag from Henri Bendel. I am loving the unexpected pop of yellow mixed with the spotted print…so fierce!  This bag also comes with an optional crossbody strap so it is perfect for busy summer days running around the city. I added the links to this look below along with some other amazing options.

Thanks for stopping by!! Have a great week!!

Spring Fever

Skirt:Maje|Top:J.Crew|Jacket:Theory(older)|Pumps:Christian Louboutin

Dino Petrocelli Photography

I have been having serious spring fever. I am over the cold and SO over my winter clothes!! I have been trying to incorporate more color into my outfits along with some lighter weight pieces. This midi skirt from Maje for instance has a neoprene-like finish and all-over print…you could do a lot with this. Today I decided to go with one of my favorite and classic layering pieces…a sleeveless shell (also see the matching cardigan) they always seem to work with just about anything. The sunset pink color adds a fun touch to the green and blue print. This look is still shoppable. See Below:

Red to Toe

Hi Everyone!!

I love the color red this time of year. It is so stunning.

Last week I received this beautiful custom made coat all the way from Dubai. This floor-length coat is a statement piece for sure. I cannot thank the designer Katya Kovtunovich enough. She is taking the world by storm with her modern interpretation on Arabic fabrics by creating clothes that appeal to women worldwide.

I paired an all black look underneath for a chic, yet simple look as this coat does all of the talking. A matching beret and jeweled belt add the finishing touches. Keep an eye out for this designer as she has royal and celebrity admirers including Lady Gaga.

Birds On A Wire

Hey guys!! I am off to a late start today…oops (just one of those days!!)

I am rocking another one of my favorite midi skirts today, which also can be perfect for the holidays and holiday parties. This one is printed with stripes and birds and has such a delightful charm to it. I put on a striped top, pair of stylish shearing earmuffs, leather gloves, and lace-up leather pumps for a glam/chic look with warmth and style. You can shop this look and similar below:

Perfect Plaid

Sweater:Vince|Denim:Rag&Bone(Similar)|Boots:Christian Louboutin(Similar)|Bag:Coach

Dino Petrocelli Photography

Happy Friday everyone!!

Today’s look is pretty casual and focused around classic black and red plaid. I think the crazy thing about the bold pattern is that it has so many different connotations (preppy, punk, grungy, chic etc.) There is a bit of a combo in this outfit- ranging from distressed jeans to this charming crossbody bag.

What are everyone’s weekend plans?! Do you have any awesome outfits picked out you are dying to wear?? I would love to hear about it! Thanks for stopping by!! Shop today’s look below:

Beanie Weather

Sweater:Vince|Boots:Stuart Weitzman|Beanie:Autumn Cashmere (currently not available online)

Dino Petrocelli Photography

I am unsure why it is soo hard to find a nice oversized black sweater…but it is. This one by Vince is a bit of a splurge, but it will take you through fall and winter with ease. It is incredibly soft and can look chic from day to night.

It may have been really nice out these last few days, but winter aka beanie weather is around the corner and all of the cute ones always sell out fast. This snowflake pompom one is by Autumn Cashmere. They always have super cute sets. Last year I purchased a matching leopard beanie, scarf, and glove set which is still one of my favorites from them. Unfortunately, this snowflake one is currently not available online but I will keep checking in and keep you posted. Below, I rounded up pieces from this look and some of my favorite winter beanies this season. Keep in mind that cold weather accessories can make awesome holiday gifts!!

Stripe Shirt Dress

One of my favorite things about the line BB Dakota is that they allow you to have fun with their pieces and style them in your own way. I own a few of their shirt-dresses and they are seriously the best. They usually come with a button-in lining so you have so many options. You may decide to wear it as a dress, an oversized shirt, or even unbutton it and wear as a longer layering piece.

Today’s look is all about the shirt-dress. I decided to give my stripes a little bit of sas with a beaded flower choker and my favorite over-the-knee boots…and does this leather vest look familiar to you?! If it does, that’s because it is the BCBG wrap dress you may have seen me in recently…another great versatile item. Below I have rounded up a few of my favorite shirt-dresses right now along with similar chokers.
Thanks for stopping by & happy Shopping! XOXO

Say It With Stripes

Dress:BCBG|Top:T by Alexander Wang|Booties:Reed Krakoff(older)

Dino Petrocelli Photography

A recent favorite purchase of mine is this perfectly tailored wrap dress. Not only do I love the edginess of it and that it can be worn from day to night, but also that it can be layered as a vest piece.

Today I am “Saying it with Stripes” with a ribbed statement turtleneck paired underneath. Turtlenecks are a favorite staple of mine for the fall and winter mostly because they are perfect for both formal and casual events and for layering as cool weather approaches.

As you know…I have been obsessed with booties lately. The pair I have on today are by Reed Krakoff and unfortunately no longer available, but I found some really great alternatives. Shop my look and similar below:

Drawing The Line

Jumpsuit:TopShop|Top:TopShop|Boots:Saint Laurent (older)

Dino Petrocelli Photography

How awesome is this faux leather jumpsuit from TopShop?! (I told you…I am obsessed these days) It is a pretty edgy piece so I decided to stick to monochrome tones. The clean lines and black crewneck add a bold touch to this look.

These boots from Saint Laurent are no longer available but I picked out a few pair I love just as much that would also work with this outfit. I found a pair at TopShop that are SO similar to my favorite Louboutin boots (but in suede). You can find them listed below! Alsohere is a little good news to brighten up your Tuesday- A sale at Shopbop starts today. 25% off for 3 days only. Use code INTHEFAME25 with your order. Happy Shopping!

Knit Puffball Skirt

Turtleneck:Alice&Olivia(here in black)|Skirt:Maje (currently sold out)|Belt:Maje|Leather Coat:Theory(sold out/similar below)|Bag:Fendi
Dino Petrocelli Photography

Hey everyone!! I'm a little late on today's post…but this is an outfit I wore a few weeks ago during NYFW. Originally I paired this with a deep v-neck sweater, but since we are all in fall mode now... today I decided to go with a navy turtleneck. This skirt is from Maje, and sold out  fast (which is happening so much lately). To accessorize this look I added a two-tone fabric belt (also from Maje) a navy leather jacket over my shoulders, and my fav Fendi monster bag!! Shop similar styles below and enjoy your weekend!!

Flower Power

Shorts:Alice and Olivia| Top:Theory| Jacket: Nicholas (now on sale)| Sandals:Stuart Weitzman|Choker:Asos|Bracelets:David Yurman,David Yurman,Vita Fede

Todays outfit consists of these Alice and Olivia white shorts and this silk black top. When I add my gladiator sandals and this Nicholas floral biker jacket the outfit takes on a new and dramatic look. Biker jackets, which have become a wardrobe staple of the millennium, have changed drastically over the years. Designers are adding everything from prints to embellishments, and just by pulling in a few different things…be it a hat, belt, jewelry, or shoes a look can completely change. I am all about a choker these days, and absolutely love what this multi-row festival-esque necklace brings to the outfit.

Leather Shorts

Shorts:BB Dakota (Similar)| Top: BB Dakota (Not Available Similar Here and Here))| Sandals:Stuart Weitzman

Loving simple summer clothing and even though I already own black leather shorts, this BB Dakota pair were so reasonably priced and looked so cute with this little halter top, I simply could not resist. You can keep a leather look light and springy by adding bright whites or a pop of color. Another opportunity to wear my new favorite gladiators as well!

Leather & Lace

Before going to the Bahamas in May I had originally bought the Stuart Weitzman gladiator sandals with the side zipper and elastic straps in the back… however, I ended up returning them because the straps didn’t fit my leg properly (a constant shoe struggle of mine). On my last visit to the city I found the “Backview Sandal” (photographed above) and they are the perfect addition to my wardrobe. Not only do they fit better with the adjustable straps, they are a chic cross between a boot and the popular gladiator sandal. They give a funky and more rebellious look to any outfit. The cutouts make a simple black dress like this Alice & Olivia one look fierce, and I love the combination of the bold leather with the dainty lace. I layered a few of my favorite Chan Luu necklaces with my crescent shaped Alexis Bittar because in this case…more is more.

Box Pleat Mini

Skirt:Alice & Olivia (Last Seen Here)| Top:Joie|Pumps:Christian Louboutin|Bag:Chloe|Chain: David Yurman

I have had this sky blue leather skirt for so long and could never seem to put together an outfit that satisfied me. However, when I tried it on with my Joie plaid button down I loved the combination of colors. I thought the outfit looked way more chic with the shirt loosely tucked in and unbuttoned at the top. All I kept thinking when I had this on is...I do not want to look like an Easter egg!! I thought my denim pumps prevented this oh so awful situation and added a striking contrast.

Faith Connexion

Last week I was blowing up my instagram account with photos and videos from the Faith Connexion street art tour. I couldn’t help it…I had such a great time. I wrote my thoughts on the event and the cause under my trending section so be sure to check it out!! I purchased this amazing leather cropped biker’s jacket from the collection, which was customized by graffiti artists Le H and Reyz who were flown in from Paris.  They were AMAZING. On the back of the jacket I had them add NOM (North of Manhattan obviously!!) and Lrecc (my childhood nickname)…and how did I style this leather biker’s jacket?! ALL black of course!! Head-to-toe black in my opinion is the chicest and the coolest, especially with a jacket like this one. I originally was going to pair this look with my over-the-knee Sergio Rossi boots, but I ended up going with my Christian Louboutin leather ankle boots last minute. They give a tough-chic twist to the look without making it look “too biker”.

I Don't Speak Italian

I am finishing up with my winter wardrobe and looking forward to starting my spring shopping. This is such a difficult time of year because we are still getting snow and as much as I want to start wearing lighter weight fabrics the weather does not want to cooperate!! We are off to a bright and sunny start to the day but we are still cold enough for snow here in New York. So for now, coats and sweaters are still in and those lightweight prints are on the back burner. Today I paired these checkered skinny jeans with my oversized white Moschino tee, which gives the outfit a lighter feel and added a leather paneled cardigan from J.Crew along with a black coat and my Miu Miu booties…I hope to be out of the winter mode soon.

Winter Neutrals

As you can see I am a huge fan of neutral pieces. While digging through my closet I came across these floral print Free People pants (a little bit of a tongue twister) I have had for a while now. They are more of a gray tone finished with a cream colored print. I paired them with a neutral knit and suede booties for a casual look in this awful weather....which hopefully will end ASAP.

Gold Accents

Shot by Emily Cloutier

Distressed denim, a blouse, and a sweater make up todays daytime look. I love the way the yellow really makes the calf-hair flats pop. As I have mentioned… I am just easing myself into wearing gold jewelry since I usually gravitate more towards silver pieces. It just so happens that gold accents have worked themselves in, all throughout today’s outfit. From the gold hardware on the handbag and leather jacket, to the delicate necklace finished off with a gold horn pendant and edgy gold zippers on my calf-hair flats, I am slowly but surely giving gold a go.

Sweater: Joie/Boyfriend Jeans: Rag & Bone/Boots: Christian Louboutin/Bag: Sara Battaglia

I love boyfriend jeans because they are so easy to glam up or dress down and they give off that vibe that you look put together yet not trying too hard. I usually add a splash color with denim..it always seems to do the trick. These papaye colored edition of Christian Louboutin's 'So Kate' booties are my absolute favorite and they take this neutral outfit from simple and baggy to feminine with their high heel and touch of fiery orange. I added my  taupe Sara Battaglia bucket bag because I love the leather tassels…they add such a 'chicness' to this great carryall.
